An account of the first game of “Walking Football” played onsite, and possibly, the first such game in Spain! There was tension on the old Bowling Green at Camping Los Gallardos on Sunday as two teams faced each other for what is probably the first game of ‘Walking Football’ in Almería, or perhaps the whole of Spain. The annual Lodge of Unity No 98 Charity Bowls Day was held at Almeria Bowling Club on Saturday 6th September. The members of Almeria Bowing Club were fantastic hosts and a really big thank you to them for their help and support. After the game a BBQ was held in the shade of the terraces where Benjamin Jackson and his team laid out a fantastic spread…a big thank you to them also. This was followed by the amazing John Lodge with a few games to raise funds for Masonic charities….thanks John as ever and a thank you too to Miraflores […]
After a recent medical scare onsite, we were touched to receive a lovely “thank you” card which we reproduce here. And yes, Dad is now fine!
Our area still enjoys the traditional aspects of Spanish life, and we throw ourselves with gusto into the modern interpretations of our past history.
